Monsoon hitting Lahore soon!
Monsoon was founded in 1973 by Peter Simon following a period of selling shaggy woolen coats on the Portobello Road and hand block printed clothes from Rajasthan to anyone who would buy them. The original focus was always clothes with an ethnic origin from faraway places, including unusual dresses from Afghanistan and countries en route. For four decades, Monsoon designers have followed in his footsteps to the far corners of the world, celebrating global culture and fashion that speaks to women who dress with a sense of adventure.
Monsoon is a brand with a highly distinctive identity. The intrinsic beauty of fabric, color and technique so evident in the early sourcing of Monsoon’s products from India, Afghanistan and the Far East, continues to exercise a strong influence. Today, Monsoon’s team of talented designers gather inspiration and ideas from around the world to create the Monsoon signature look.
Mission: LOVE – Living our Values and Ethics since 1973. “We know our responsibility extends beyond your wardrobe, so we’ve been trying our hardest to live by our values and ethics since 1973”
The brand’s aim is to ensure that every element of the Monsoon story reflects their values, from sourcing the finest materials to ensuring each supplier meets high ethical standards. In keeping with their bohemian roots, the brand supports ethical design and traditional handicrafts while encouraging recycling in everything they do. This is the inspiration for Monsoon’s exclusive, in-house designed collection of unique, classic pieces, that range from sophisticated evening to casual day wear, and combine feminine styling with exotic color, beautiful fabrics and detailed finishing. Monsoon has expanded rapidly from its London base. Today there are over 400 Monsoon and Accessorize store in the United Kingdom and over 600 throughout the world. Monsoon opened its first ever store in Karachi Pakistan in January 2012 at Dolmen Mall.
